Sleepy Bunny Lovey

Remember the Gingham Baby Blanket I was commissioned to make? Well, I had some yarn left over and decided to surprise my friend and also make a lovey for the baby.

I had so much fun looking for patterns before choosing this one: Interchangeable Lovey Blanket by Alanna O’Dea.

Having made several Octopals in the past, I am not entirely new to Amigurumi, but I still find it quite challenging.

Fortunately, there aren't too many "parts" to this one as the torso and legs of the bunny are replaced by the wee blankie. Winning!!

And the pattern is really well written and super easy to follow. Which is always a bonus when tackling projects outside of your comfort zone.

Having said that, the instructions use UK terms - which is always a bit of a mind-f*ck when one is used to working in US terms. But hey, at least it kept the grey matter entertained.

The bunny ears did a weird twisty thing. Not sure why. But I find them quirky and adding to the character.

Actually, it is altogether possible that I didn't follow the pattern for the ears. Which would explain the twisting.

I also got to learn a new stitch: the Alpine Stitch border. (Which I must file away in the memory bank for future projects.)

The blankie itself was a breeze; and worked up super quick.

In fact, I found myself pondering making dish cloths next. I mean, I don't use them myself, but some people do, right?

But I digress. . .

Here is the completed Sleepy Bunny Lovey along with the Gingham Blanket:
