Following the tourist path to the Trevi Fountain, the lucky traveller may stumble upon the opulent Galleria Sciarra.
Though actually the centre of an ordinary office block, this gorgeous Art Nouveau courtyard was built in 1888 and painted by Guiseppe Cellini to celebrate what he saw as 'the virtues of women'.
Today though, this lovely spot celebrates Rome, its ability to surprise and delight, and to reveal the unexpected in even the most well-known, well-touristed areas.
